The fellow working at the tourist office proudly told me that there had been no ferry cancellations this year. There was, however, one yesterday. The reason for cancellation became very apparent when we walked the waterfront of Santa Cruz. This is, after all, the middle of the Atlantic.
We were delighted to have another day and this time left our bikes behind to hike up into the hills. We were serenaded by an exuberant chorus of cows as we approached the high ridge behind town. I was also happy to see a working donkey pulling a cart of corn husks that a farmer was spreading out for the cattle.
The winds and sea are calmer now and we plan to sail to Pico Island this evening.

That’s a swimming hole! Wow.
I meant, “That’s a swimming hole? Wow.”
At least ferry cancellations are nothing new for you. Much better extra day than being stuck at Swartz Bay in the pouring rain. 😉
Exactly Bob!
